Tracy Boyer

Tracy Boyer (Associate)

Tracy is a mother and guest working and living in Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki. She is a project leader, and systems change consultant with over 15 years of work experience in the non-profit sector. Tracy is dedicated to fostering equity and impactful change and is an adept community developer. Her experience in the social sector ranges from starting and running a shared coworking space to non-profit work in the areas of community agency funding and anti-poverty work, youth mental illness, and women’s economic empowerment. She is passionate and experienced with systems-based change work and project management.

Before joining Horizons, for four years Tracy led and managed a project of the YWCA Halifax called Shift Change, a systems change project funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada and the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency to support women’s economic empowerment in skilled trades. The Shift Change team collaborated on the launch of a supervisor training program; the design, creation and convening of a 14-member agency network & web portal as well as a gender-based and sexual harassment evaluation and report.

Grounded in continuous learning, Tracy has actively pursued professional development opportunities including courses in design thinking, authentic leadership, generative conflict, and systems master classes to stay at the forefront of social innovation.

Equipped with a Marketing Diploma from Humber College and complemented by specialized training in non-profit sector leadership from Dalhousie University, Tracy can navigate the complex intersections of community development, technology, and social change.
