5-Minute CBT Course Registration

“5-minute CBT”: 5-Week Online Course for Clinicians

In this 20-hour CME-accredited course, clinicians learn to jumpstart your own self -care and wellbeing, as well as your patients. Deepen your understanding of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) - based tools to apply to yourself and your practice.  

Course objectives: 

  1. Able to apply 3 key steps for effective health behaviour change with a range of patients using SMART goals and 5-min CBT tools developed by the Fountain of Health (i.e. Health and Resilience Questionnaire, Goal Documentation Sheet, Take Home Goal Sheet and Wellness App).
  2. Be familiar with indications for CBT, enhanced CBT and readiness assessments and understand how to apply behaviour change across of patient types, health conditions and stages of patient readiness.
  3. Be encouraged to apply the FoH approach to managing their own stress and well-being, particularly relevant for clinicians in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Booster session will:

  • Review the Thrive three step approach to behaviour change learned in the course.
  • Identify barriers and solutions to application in practice.
  • Know the steps for continuing progress.

Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis and spots are limited.

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the Continuing Professional Development Office of Dalhousie University for up to 20 Mainpro+ credits. [2 hours for introductory webinar session; 1.5 hours for each of the following 4 webinar sessions; 2.5 hours each for monitored follow-up participation for each session (article/videos read/watched, discussion forum participation and quiz), 2-hour booster session].
 
As an accredited provider, Dalhousie University, CPD, designates this continuing professional development activity for up to 20 credit hours as an accredited group learning Section 1 activity as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
